Esbjerg is 25 minutes away

We are not in Esbjerg — and for a lot of guests that turns out to be the better option. Arnbjerg Pavillonen sits in Varde, a 25-minute drive up the road, with free parking at the door, a quiet park instead of a busy street, and a restaurant in the building.

Who stays here instead of Esbjerg

• Everything in Esbjerg is booked. Conferences, offshore crews and events fill the city fast. We usually have rooms when they don’t.
• People working in Esbjerg who would rather not sleep next to the ring road — and who need somewhere to eat after 20:00.
• Families heading to the coast who want the beach and the town without paying city prices.
• Travellers catching the Fanø ferry or driving on to Ribe the next morning.

Getting to Esbjerg from here

Straight down route 12 — one road, no city traffic until you arrive. There is also a train from Varde station (about 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel) that runs to Esbjerg in roughly 20 minutes, if you would rather leave the car.

What you avoid

Paid parking, one-way systems, and a hotel restaurant that closes early. Ours serves dinner until 21:00, seven days a week — and the bar stays open a while longer.
